  • How can I book?
    Booking can be done online at planetcurls.com or by calling 713-861-6444. All appointments must be secured with a credit card and $50 deposit. The deposit will be credited towards your total. Deposits are not transferable and non-refundable. We do not "hold" deposits.
  • How do I arrive for my appointment?
    Hair Please arrive with clean, dry, detangled curls with little to no product. No ponytails, headbands, clips, or hats. Arriving with tangles will incur a detangling fee. Failure to overlook these instructions can result in appointment being rescheduled and charged 100% of service. References Take some time to figure out what you want and gather some reference pictures for your stylist. This will help them interpret your wants and expectations. Keep your texture and fullness in mind when searching, not all styles are universal.
  • Why do you cut curly hair dry?
    Textured hair is rarely uniform in curl pattern which means traditional wet haircuts can leave a client with an uneven or shorter haircut than anticipated. Cutting hair dry allows us to see where the curls naturally fall and sculpt them into the desired shape.
  • What is a dusting?
    Express cuts are reserved for current clients who have received a haircut from us within the last 4 months. This service is a touch up cut with a quick curl refresh and does not include a wash.
  • Can I get a perm at Planet Curls?
    Yes! All perms require a consultation and are therefore only scheduled via phone call at 713-861-6444.
  • Do you do kids cuts?
    Kids cuts (children 3 and under) may be booked by calling 713-861-6444. Kids 4 and up are booked as an adult cut. If detangling services are required, please request when booking and an additional fee of $25 per 15 min will be applied.
  • How do I book multiple services?
    When booking a cut and a color in the same day, we require the cut be performed before the color. Make sure and book the services with the cut first to avoid any issues. All first time color appointments require a consultation.
  • How often should I book?
    Haircuts – 6 months Express Cuts – 4 months Hair Detox – As needed Deep Conditioning – 4 months for short hair | 6 months for long hair Olaplex Treatment– 1 month (if highly damaged) Hair Color Touch Up – 4-6 weeks P.C. Lights – 4-6 Months Perms – 6 Months
  • How do I cancel or change my appointment?
    Please call or text Planet Curls at 713-861-6444. If you are unable to speak to a receptionist please text. Cancelations or changes may not be made by DM or email. You may cancel or modify your appointment without charge anytime 48 hours preceding the start time of your appointment. A charge of $25 will incur if cancelations or changes are made within the 48 hour period. Cancellations less than 24 hours notice will result in a charge of 100% of your total services.
  • What it I've received a curly cut at another salon?
    All new clients to Planet Curls will be considered as a First Time Curly Cut. Please book accordingly.
